Just picked up 700 bucks worth of Manor Hall. This will be the second house I've used it on. Has passed the test I do at home so now I'm rolling (pun intended) it out into my projects. Kind of excited, it's just a repaint but I'm going to focus on how it behaves through the whole process. Pics to come Both interior and exterior. Didn't even know Manor Hall had an exterior. Keep us posted...

Bet my wife is tired of me doing test in our living area All freshly painted. This tape is overkill for trim, should provide some insight though. I will add a raw piece of wood with manor on it aswell with the tape test. Going to let the tape sit for 7-8 hours. Also did some scrub test with a pretty course brush It did not ruin the paint. it did clean up most of the permanent marker, I got tired and quit scrubbing. Pretty dang tough for eggshell. More to come

Hey Santiago...have you had a chance to try Manor Hall eggshell in deep or ultra deep base? Just curious about application and hide. The antique white that I painted with was user friendly and had decent hide. Thanks for the testing and pictures!

Haven't had a chance.
My next weeks project is nearly all manor hall so I will have a better feel for it after that.
So far it has passed my Burnish/scrub test, adhesion over prev painted, tape test and now I have just sprayed a coat on raw oak. I will photo both 1st and second coat over raw wood.
Kind of funny, I didn't want to really like it but its hard to argue with results. Still not sold yet I need more real world testing, so far so good.

Sounds good. I'm "ultra" skeptical as well these days. Look forward to see/read the results.

Applied this tape to the trim. 1 hour after I coated it. Usually we let trim sit a while before doing this but it's nice to find the limits. This was a raw piece of oak. Tape sat overnight Used that to spray it, had to reduce it a bit. 1st coat 2nd coat. I'm not worried about tape peeling up this product.

Was the paint on this trim eggshell, pearl or semigloss finish?

Santiago, I'm not trying to nullify your test or anything, however, I think any test, whether it be a scratch test or adhesion test, should be performed on a number of areas in order to be valid. Iy might stick to one part and not another. It may not peel from one part, but then peel from several others. I've seen this quite a bit on My tests. Best to get a well rounded sample of tests. When products are tested by the Auto industry, I'm willing to bet they don't just crash one car. I bet they crash a bunch of cars in order to validated their tests across the board. it also looks like the tape was applied across the grain. I'd like to see some of the tests with the tape applied with the grain. I've never done My tests this way, but the prescribed method with one Lab is to cut an X in the paint with a razor, and then apply the tape over that and rip it off forcefully. I know for Myself, that I don't want My paint to fail, so I'm careful about how I pull the tape, when in fact, I should be as reckless as I can be in order to find out the true characteristics of the paint or substrate. Just My two cents. P.S. I do appreciate you time and effort though, and taking the time to share with us.

Never said I was done still have other bases to make sure it's the same result. Pretty dang confident though. Painting a 2 bedroom house worth of trim tomorrow and start rolling walls. My biggest concern is stain blocking some weird areas...I'll get photos....well have to see how it acts.

Rolled out some light grey and brown in a pastel base. The pastel base in eggshell rolls out super smooth. Even the first coat over flat was a breeze to roll. Not sure I've come across anything that has been this smooth minus Gardz or semi over semi.
I'll check viscosity but I felt the satin possibly different base didn't roll as smooth, wasnt terrible though. The eggshell pastel base just was that nice to work with it made the other seem slow.
Pretty happy with my decision to use this product. I've got little to gripe about. Got some stain blocking and coverage photos but they will have to wait till later. Pressure washed a deck after my regular work and I'm tired.
Used a spoon to scoop the paint into the aerosol spray thing, can't get the paint off the spoon. Had I known that I'd have washed it right away. Won't stick to outlet covers, so surprised me that it would stick to this metal.

"...Pretty happy with my decision to use this product..." We have more options when shopping for paints for repaint scenarios. Add bare drywall to the equation and its a different ballgame; product selection narrows quickly.

I always sand any plastic I want to paint. Even PVC or ABS. Looking forward to hearing more about the Manor Hall. Thanks for keeping us posted Santiago.
